Join TAP-LA as we visit the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo to tour Giant Robot Biennale 5, an amazing exhibition that showcases a diverse selection of artworks from Asian and Asian American creatives. The show’s lineup includes an array of artists including Sean Chao, Felicia Chiao, Luke Chueh, Giorgiko, James Jean, Taylor Lee, Mike Shinoda, Rain Szeto, and Yoskay Yamamoto. Please look forward to attending, as we may have 1 or 2 of these artists join us to talk about their work!
Originally created in the 1990s as a magazine, Giant Robot was begun to celebrate and promote alternative Asian American art and pop culture drawing inspiration from the punk scene, comic books, pop art, vinyl toys, and graphic arts. Paying homage to the publication that created a safe space for Asian American creativity beginning nearly three decades ago, this amazing exhibition continues to showcase many of the leading AAPI artists that are active in today's dynamic art and culture scene.
